Why Work Here?

An Outstanding Environment for Growing Careers and Families

Located in Riverhead, NY — where the twin forks of eastern Long Island meet — the area surrounding Peconic Bay Medical Center offers a small-town feel with all the amenities and culture of a metropolitan area. From the bucolic vineyards and farms of the North Fork to the beautiful ocean beaches, trendy shopping, and world-famous Hamptons scene on the South Fork, PBMC Health staff members enjoy an ideal environment for living as well as earning a living.

The heart of the PBMC Health continuum of care, Peconic Bay Medical Center is a Joint Commission-accredited 182-bed medical center offering state-of-the-art facilities and a wide range of advanced programs, including the Kanas Center for Advanced Surgery; Centers of Excellence in Joint Replacement and Bariatric Surgery; the new, state-of-the-art Cary Grossman Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Center; and the Pegasus House Palliative Care Center.

Reinforcing its commitment to providing excellent patient care and safety, PBMC Health has broken ground on our new Manorville Campus for Advanced Ambulatory and Preventive Care, which will provide primary care, pediatrics and Ob-Gyn services starting in the first quarter of 2013, followed by an expanding range of advanced specialty services.

Peconic Bay Medical Center provides a full array of services, including inpatient and ambulatory surgery, emergency care, endoscopy, respiratory care, physical therapy and rehabilitation, obstetrics and gynecology, and the latest in radiologic imaging.

Through partnership with Stony Brook University Medical Center, Peconic Bay Medical Center's Emergency Department is staffed by Level 1 trauma trained physicians who see approximately 30,000 patients a year. Peconic Bay is a New York State Department of Health-designated Stroke Center.

Complementing the medical center's inpatient services, the PBMC Health continuum of care includes outpatient physical therapy, a skilled nursing and rehabilitation center, a certified home care agency, a family care center, a graduate medical education program for physician internship and residency studies; a NYS-certified school of Radiologic Technology; and a network of community-based primary care and specialist physician practices.

PBMC Health takes our mission beyond the main campus and into the community. Through its wellness programs, prevention screenings and a host of other health education programs, PBMC Health is committed to providing exceptional medical care for the people in the communities of Eastern Long Island.
