Pulmonology
Pulmonolgists are specialists who are usually consulted for diagnosis and treatment of patients with complex pulmonary problems.
- Patients may be seen by a pulmonologist on an in-patient basis at Peconic Bay Medical Center.
- Patients also may see a pulmonologist on an out-patient basis.
A Pulmonologist is an Internist who treats diseases of the lungs and airways. The pulmonologist diagnoses and treats cancer, pneumonia, pleurisy, asthma, occupational and environmental diseases, bronchitis, sleep disorders, emphysema and other complex disorders of the lungs—American Board of Medical Specialties.
