One of the pioneers of advanced joint replacement surgery on Long island, Dr. Romeo has performed over 3,000 successful knee and hip replacement surgeries. Formerly an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at SUNY Stony Brook School of Medicine, Dr. Romeo was the founder and first director of the Joint Replacement Center at Stony Brook.
A magna cum laude graduate of the Tufts University College of Engineering, Dr. Romeo earned his medical degree at the Tufts University School of Medicine, and served surgical residencies at the Baylor College of Medicine and SUNY Stony Brook School of Medicine. Dr. Romeo’s training includes a Surgical Arthritis Fellowship at the Lenox Hill Hospital Center for Total Joint Replacement, as well as research positions at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, in Immunogenetics & Transplantation, and Harvard Medical School, in Rheumatology and Immunology.
