Fully integrated with the advanced life-saving services of Peconic Bay Medical Center’s Kanas Regional Heart Center, our comprehensive cardiac rehabilitation program provides a confidence-building return path to improved strength, stamina and quality of life after a cardiovascular event.
Accredited by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR), the program is staffed by physical therapists and registered nurses who are certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
A typical therapy program includes two to three carefully planned exercise sessions per week for up to 12 weeks. Patients exercise while wearing a heart monitor under close supervision by a registered nurse and physical therapist.
