Survivorship is a journey. You don’t need to go it alone.
Peconic Bay Medical Center (PBMC) is dedicated to supporting every member of our community who has been diagnosed with cancer.
We believe cancer is not an end but rather a beginning of a life-affirming journey. The journey admittedly can be difficult or bumpy, but with the support of family, friends and the multidisciplinary cancer care team at PBMC, you too can hope, fight and win!
Our mission is simple yet profound: to ensure that you have access to the resources and support necessary to thrive beyond cancer.
Whether you’re seeking guidance on managing treatment side effects, navigating life after cancer, or connecting with community resources, we are here to assist you.
In addition to our clinical expertise, we also offer a range of supportive services through our Survivorship Program, which includes support groups, screening events, and educational workshops to empower you to live your best life post-cancer diagnosis.
An individual is considered a cancer survivor from the time of diagnosis through the rest of life. As a result, what being a survivor means to you may change over time. While everyone’s experience is unique, you can benefit from the experience of those who have gone before you. More than one million people with a history of cancer live in New York State.
Cancer survivorship is a focus on the health and well-being of cancer survivors.
This includes the physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and financial effects of cancer. The effects begin at diagnosis, continue through treatment, and can have an impact even after treatment has ended. Cancer survivors, family members, friends, and caregivers are all a part of the cancer survivorship experience. We are a community focused on thriving together. Join us.
