Conditions for which podiatric care is indicated include:

  • Regular evaluation and preventative care for people with diabetes, peripheral arterial disease (PAD) and other chronic health conditions
  • Evaluation and treatment of functions, bone structure, and disorders such as hammer toe, bunion, flat feet and high arches
  • Painful conditions such as sprains, tendonitis, heel or joint pain, corns, calluses and rash
  • Infections of the skin or toenails including discoloration and change in thickness
  • Numbness, burning sensation, tingling and other symptoms of nerve dysfunction
  • Prescription and dispensing of custom orthotics and orthopedic shoes 

Patients may be referred to a Podiatrist by a primary care physician or other specialists. Patients can also self-refer directly for specialized foot care.
