Peconic Bay Medical Center Appoints Amy E. Loeb, RN as next Chief Nursing Officer

RIVERHEAD, NY – Amy E. Loeb, EdD(c), MBA, RN-BC, NE-BC has been selected to be the next Vice President-Chief Nursing Officer of Peconic Bay Medical Center (PBMC) effective December 2015.  Ms. Loeb will succeed Gerard Zunno, RN, MSN who will be retiring at year end after 14 years of dedicated service and key leadership at PBMC. 

“Amy’s vision for nursing excellence and her enthusiasm to lead the next era of nursing transformation at Peconic Bay Medical Center is extremely exciting.  From her doctoral work to her boots on the ground approach to leadership, she will be an excellent fit to help guide the future and continue our tradition of clinical excellence,” said Andrew Mitchell, President and CEO of Peconic Bay Medical Center.

Ms. Loeb has served as Vice President for Allied Health at Huntington Hospital where she oversaw the patient experience, quality of care, caregiver engagement, operational and financial performance of the Radiology, Laboratory, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Therapy and Case Management departments.    Since becoming a registered nurse in 2003, Amy has been a transformational leader in the North Shore/LIJ Health System.  Amy has been mentored by some of the finest nursing and hospital leaders in New York and her experience in a Magnet designated organization has given her a solid understanding of how to lead a nursing organization to excellence.

 Ms. Loeb, received her B.S. in nursing and her MBA from St. Joseph’s College.  In addition, she is a certified doctoral student at Columbia University’s Teachers College.  She has a Certification as a Nurse Executive and Gerontology Nurse.  Ms. Loeb has received numerous awards for scholarship and leadership and is a frequent lecturer.
