Learn more about our areas of expertise

Since its inception in 2017, the Kanas Regional Heart Center at Peconic Bay Medical Center has been a leading provider of life-saving cardiac care in eastern Suffolk County. With the recent addition of a second catheterization suite, their team of skilled interventional cardiologists utilizes cutting-edge technology to diagnose and treat heart conditions, offering minimally invasive procedures such as stent placement, balloon angioplasty, and valve repair.

Electrophysiology, a specialized field within cardiology, focuses on diagnosing and treating heart rhythm disorders stemming from the heart's electrical system. These disorders manifest as irregular heartbeats or complications like heart failure, marked by fluid buildup in the extremities or lungs. Our team of board-certified electrophysiologists offers expertise in assessing and managing various rhythm abnormalities, tailoring treatment plans encompassing lifestyle adjustments, medication, device implantation (like pacemakers), catheterization procedures, and, if necessary, cardiac surgery.

Experience the cutting-edge capabilities of our new Siemens SOMATOM multiple-slice scanner at the Kanas Regional Heart Center, delivering swift and accurate 3D images for identifying cardiac conditions with precision. This technology exemplifies our commitment to providing exceptional care tailored to our extraordinary community. Whether for inpatient or outpatient testing, this scanner offers ultra-high-resolution images of vital cardiac structures, including coronary arteries, heart chambers, pulmonary veins, aorta, pericardium, and detection of calcium or plaque build-up.

Introducing Eastern Suffolk's pioneering program providing real-time telemetry-monitored therapy for both in-patient and out-patient care. Our state-of-the-art facilities boast cutting-edge exercise and telemetry technologies, supported by the region's largest team of Advanced Cardiac Life Support-certified physical therapists and nurses. Experience outstanding care at our ultramodern Cary Grossman Rehabilitation Center and Peconic Bay Out-Patient Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Center.

Vascular conditions, which disproportionately impact the elderly and diabetic populations in Eastern Suffolk communities, underscore the importance of early detection and treatment. Peconic Bay Medical Center's Peripheral Vascular Disease Lab, made possible by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation's generous donation, offers crucial non-invasive diagnosis and treatment using advanced technology. This resource plays a vital role in addressing potentially life-threatening vascular conditions.
