Losing weight is a goal that many people have. However, most things you will read about losing weight will tell you all the things you cannot eat. In reality, there are many things that you should be eating that can help you on your quest towards weight loss. When you put together your eating plan, consider adding in these five nutrient-rich superfoods for weight loss.

  • Green Tea – Every dieter knows that drinking water is a key to losing weight. Why not get some of your water in the form of green tea? Green tea contains catechins, a powerful antioxidant that aids in weight loss and prevents you from storing belly fat.
  • Almonds – High in protein, and a great substitute for complex carbohydrates, almonds are an excellent snack. They will help you fill up fast and may aid in weight loss.
  • Avocado Oil – Studies have shown time and time again that avocado oil can help aid in weight loss. Even if you are trying to cut back on fats, you need some in your diet. Avocado oil is an excellent choice. A study by Penn State University showed that enjoying just a tablespoon a day could help you quickly lose weight.
  • Beans and Legumes – Your diet needs protein. Protein keeps you going and helps you feel full throughout the day and not turn to unhealthy snacks. However, you do not have to turn to meat. A diet rich in beans and legumes is a good choice for those who are dieting. These high-fiber foods will fill you up without filling you out.
  • Grapefruit – While the “grapefruit diet” is a joke in the world of weight loss, eating a grapefruit is far from a laughing matter. Consider enjoying half a grapefruit before a big meal and you will be less likely to overeat, and you will have improved metabolism.
