RIVERHEAD, NY – For the 700 post-surgery patients that received knee and hip replacement procedures at Peconic Bay Medical Center, a healthy recovery included an invitation to mingle, enjoy a delicious barbeque and dance the afternoon away with their doctors, physical therapists, families and friends at Peconic Bay Medical Center’s 9th Annual Joint Replacement Reunion BBQ and Dance recently held at The Inn & Spa at East Wind. This annual event is a chance to celebrate patients’ successes on the road to recovery and illustrates the fact that undergoing knee or hip replacement truly means living again with a better quality of life.
“This is a great event where we can celebrate our patient's successes,” explains Andrew J. Mitchell, President & CEO at Peconic Bay Medical Center. “Our Annual Joint Replacement Reunion BBQ and Dance offers the kind of atmosphere that allows our post-surgery patienbbq_2.JPGts to relax, share their success stories, and demonstrates that those who have undergone knee or hip replacement surgery can lead productive, happy lives that include such activities as dancing and exercise," he continued.
