RIVERHEAD, NY—Peconic Bay Medical Center (PBMC) announced today that it has received a $10 million contribution from longtime donors Emilie and Michael Corey to support the development of the hospital’s new Center for Women and Infants. In honor of this milestone donation, the facility, which will be the first of its kind in the region, will be named the Emilie Roy Corey Center for Women and Infants. The facility is a significant aspect of the hospital’s $92 million expansion investment and is expected to open in 2025.

“Emilie and Michael Corey have been incredible partners in making our vision for the future a reality, and we are extremely grateful to them for helping to bring the Corey Center for Women and Infants into our community,” said Peconic Bay Medical Center Executive Director Amy Loeb, EdD, MBA, RN. “Advancing women’s health in Eastern Suffolk County is a driving force in our expansion plans, and we are excited about the benefits the Center for Women and Infants will provide families throughout Eastern Suffolk County by making high-quality, patient-centered care closer to home. We are grateful to Emilie and Michael Corey for their continued support of the hospital and their steadfast dedication to improving the quality of life in this region.”

The Emilie Roy Corey Center for Women and Infants will feature new private rooms and make much-needed comprehensive women’s health services accessible to residents throughout Eastern Suffolk County. It will create a state-of-the-art hospital within PBMC with a space dedicated to providing breast health services, urogynecology, and teleneonatology, with a goal to develop a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The new center will be designed to deliver exceptional, customized care with a dedicated entrance, featuring talented physicians that are already part of the team and more to come, bolstered by a growing ambulatory network. Patients will have specialized access to state-of-the-art operating rooms and labor and delivery services able to offer the highest caliber interventions for premature and ill infants.

“Supporting the growth of women’s health has always been a priority for us, and we are proud to be the flagship contributors helping to bring this much-needed facility to our community,” said Emilie and Michael Corey. “Peconic Bay Medical Center is our community hospital, and we are committed to helping make it the best it can be. Our latest gift addresses a concern we have had for a long while and will ensure that women in our community have access to the care they deserve. Amy Loeb and the hospital’s leadership have demonstrated an impressive track record of success, and a strong hospital means a strong community. We believe in their vision of what the hospital can become, and we are excited to see this project come to fruition.”

Since 2007, Emilie and Michael have worked alongside Peconic Bay Medical Center to advance access to the highest level of health care in Eastern Suffolk County. This has included the establishment of the Pegasus House Palliative Care program to offer compassionate care and improve the quality of life for patients with chronic or life-limiting illnesses, and the Corey Critical Care Pavilion, which added a rooftop helipad and a 16-bed intensive and cardiac care unit to the hospital. Both initiatives have provided enhanced, life-saving services and have uplifted a region of Long Island that had traditionally been underserved without nearby access to specialized and emergency health care. In addition, this donation brings the Coreys’ lifetime support for PBMC to nearly $25 million.
