RIVERHEAD, NEW YORK (SEPTEMBER 20, 2022)—The Peconic Bay Medical Center (PBMC) Foundation recently celebrated Thomas and Mary Jane Poole for their longtime support of the hospital’s growth and their philanthropic efforts to enhance quality of life on the East End. Most recently, Thomas and Mary Jane Poole made a $5 million contribution to the Peconic Bay Medical Center’s efforts to expand its emergency department by adding 6,000-square-feet to the emergency room—increasing capacity, adding new technology and enhancing the patient experience.

With the Peconic Bay Medical Center Medical Staff serving as the presenting sponsor for the recognition event, doctors had the opportunity to thank the donors for their contributions to healthcare advancements at the hospital. The event was held at the Westhampton Country Club and featured Peconic Bay Medical Center Executive Director and President of the PBMC Foundation, Amy Loeb, hospital physicians, and distinguished guests from throughout the region.

“Tom and Mary Jane Poole have made a lasting impact on this community, making high-quality healthcare available to all,” said Loeb. “Access to healthcare should never be compromised for the residents of Eastern Suffolk County, and the Pooles have demonstrated a continued commitment to help facilitate our mission to expand advanced healthcare in the region. We are incredibly thankful for their support, and we are excited to continue our growth with the community’s continued support.”

As Eastern Suffolk County’s largest healthcare provider, PBMC provides services to over 250,000 residents. PBMC is a New York State-designated stroke center and Level III trauma center hosting advanced cardiac catheterization suites and the largest (and expanding) emergency department.
