Peconic Bay Medical Center’s Maternity Services Department is staffed 24/7 with Eastern Suffolk’s largest team of board-certified neonatal nurse practitioner newborn intensive care specialists. Our team is tele-health connected with Northwell Health’s systemwide team of board-certified neonatologist physicians.

What is Neonatology?
A subspecialty of pediatrics, Neonatology is specialized medical care for newborn infants. Neonatal nurse practitioners are trained to provide the extra level of care and expertise needed by premature, ill or otherwise at-risk babies.

Your baby’s safety is our greatest concern
In our recently renovated Maternity Services department, we are well-equipped to provide safe, secure deliveries including stabilization of unexpected high-risk newborns.

With onsite NNPs and neonatal telehealth if necessary, infants will receive expert stabilization and the extra level of special care to keep mothers and babies together.

If higher level care is necessary, our SkyHealth emergency helicopter transport system stands ready to provide the fastest route to the New York metropolitan area’s most advanced neonatal intensive care facilities.
